我的大学英语作文

My College

My college is located in the largest university in Guangxi, which requires me to traverse a vast campus to reach my destination. Initially, I was discontent with this, but over time, it became a part of my routine. My college is modern in design, with the school gate leading directly to the boys' dormitories and the playground. Upon looking up, I spotted the canteen, and turning left, I found the girls' dormitories. The classroom, however, was a bit of a mystery; it was situated separately, behind a small tunnel. It was intriguing, wasn't it? Navigating through the tunnel, I discovered two large sports fields and a tennis court on my left. My right side led to rows of teaching buildings connected to the library, this being the heart of my college. I love it not just for its environment, but for the people there.

Both the teachers and students are kind and helpful. My roommates are always there to assist me with daily tasks, usually waking me up in the morning. My classmates provide support when I encounter academic challenges. My teachers are friendly and knowledgeable, especially my head teacher, who engages with us in conversations and sports to help us adapt to our new life.

My college is wonderful, and I cherish it deeply. I hope that if you have the opportunity, you might visit one day.

Work Importance in Our Life

After completing my final exams, I found myself in a state of leisure, yet I felt restless and unfulfilled. This led me to reflect on the importance of finding and attaining values in life, particularly for women. Work, as I see it, is a fundamental means to achieve these values. But why is work so crucial in our lives?

Firstly, work is essential for meeting our basic needs. To ensure a comfortable existence, we must work diligently to acquire food, clothing, and other necessities. From this perspective, work is a natural responsibility for individuals and their families. However, those who merely perceive work as a duty often view it as a burden, becoming exhausted after a period of time, and some may even choose to abandon their responsibilities.

Moreover, I strongly feel that work is a vital pathway to self-fulfillment. As Maslow suggests, humans have five needs: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, self-actualization, and transcendence. In my view, work pertains to the higher echelons of these needs. We consistently strive to attain value and recognition from others through various means, especially through work. This tendency is particularly noticeable among those who have matured, leading many teenagers to actively seek independence to support themselves. Thus, work is not only a means of sustenance but also a means of self-actualization, providing spiritual satisfaction.

Conclusively, work is indispensable in our lives. Regardless of the profession one pursues, the utmost effort should be exerted. Without work, an adult risks becoming bored or even disheartened.

Excellent School Art Festival

The annual school art festival was a resounding success this year, with a significant number of students and teachers participating. The opening act was the Gangnam Style dance by the students from Class 1 Grade 6, a captivating performance. Next up, the English teachers showcased their talent with an English choir, delivering a stunning performance. These two segments were particularly enjoyable for me. The finale was the pop song rendition by the students from Class 3 Grade 7. Their performance was so mesmerizing that they clinched the first prize.

What’s more, network of my university is very unstable. It is difficult to search literature in my dormitory, which waste too much time.In short, I am quite satisfied with my university life, but there is still some room for improvement.
