The pie charts below show units of electricity production by fuel source in Australia and France in 1980 and 2000.

考官范文：
The charts compare the sources of electricity in Australia and France in the years 1980 and 2000. During these years electricity production almost doubled, rising from 100 units to 170 in Australia, and from 90 to 180 units in France.

In 1980 Australia used coal as the main electricity source (50 units) and the remainder was produced from natural gas, hydro power (each producing 20 units) and oil (which produced only 10 units). By 2000, coal had become the fuel for more than 75% of electricity produced and only hydro power continued to be another significant source supplying approximately 20%.

In contrast, France used coal as a source for only 25 units of electricity in 1980, which was matched by natural gas. The remaining 40 units were produced largely from oil and nuclear power, with hydro power contributing only 5 units. But by 2000 nuclear power, which was not used at all in Australia, had developed into the main source, producing almost 75% of electricity, at 126 units, while coal and oil together produced only 50 units. Other sources were no longer significant.

Overall, it is clear that by 2000 these two countries relied on different principal fuel sources: Australia relied on coal and France on nuclear power.

According to the fourth assessment report issued by the Climatic Change Technical Committee of the United Nations, the human activity is the primary cause of the climate warming for nearly 50 years probablely. The human activity emissions, including the carbon dioxide, the methane, the nitrous oxide and so on, cause the global climate warming. Under the background of the global climate warming, extreme climate occured frequently and the ecological enviroment deteriorated. The air pollution become worse, which threaten the human survival and development.
To protect the environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, the government should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. Second, the government should encourage the people to use the environment frienfly product. Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.

Healthy video games, like healthy diets,are good for children. There is continuing concern that playing violent video games may increase the risk of aggression in players,while less is discussed about the possibility that this activity, if properly monitored by parents, may promote certain positive developments. It may be advisable to reframe the debate in reference to potential costs and advantages.

Obviously, somefamilies are over-worried aboutthe bad effects on kids and teens who have the habit of playing video games, particularly those with violent (or adult) content. To start with, it may be true that children learn their attitudes about violence at a very young age and unfortunatelythese attitudes tend to last. It is possible thatoftenboys rather thangirlsare taught to usefighting instead of self-control tohandle problems or conflicts.Needless to say, most parents are increasingly aware of their children's poor school performance probably being linked toan addiction to heavilyplaying video games whose nature is unknown. What is more, itgoes without sayingthat spending too much time in front of the screen is harmful to children both physically and mentally. Further, according to a number ofunconfirmed research reports on behavior, some of these undesirableconsequences mightcausesigns of fatigue during the day and nightmares during the night.

Tono small anextent,many families actually support video gamesfor having positive effects, includingoneknown as visual-spatial cognition. For one thing, thedispute on video game violence has arguably been narrow in that it assumes that all video games would encourage violence. Contrary to this argument, playing video games may, among other things,help children to practice visual-spatial cognition, a skill needed to solve a math problem or complete a jigsaw puzzle. It should be noted that since few studies examine non-violent games specifically, it is easy to overlook the overall impact of these games.Apart frombeing entertaining and stress-relieving, many such games prove valuable as learning tools, at minimum related to visual-spatial abilities. Accordingly, to be on the safe side,itbehoovesparents andchildren alike to have a wise choice in whether to accept such positive values.

It can be seen that,more often than not,research findings about the effects of playing video games are biased, being focused only on thenegative side, ormaking a claim byseeing some trees without having a widerperspective of the forest. For parents, therefore, the thing to do is to distinguish between goodand bad video games, and to limit the screen time for the best interests of the younger generation. After all, video games arenot unlikefoods of different values; some are tasty and good forhealth while others, although tasty as well, arenot suitablefor immature minds.
