Geographical Location

Zhejiang is located in the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta on the southeast coast of China. It lies between 27o12' and 31o31' north latitude and 118o00 and 123o 00' east longitude . It faces the East China Sea on the east and neighbors Fujian on the south. With an extensive hinterland in the rear, it shares borders with Jiangxi and Anhui on the west and Shanghai, the country's largest city, and Jiangsu on the north.

Zhejiang is renowned for its picturesque landscapes. It boasts well-known mountains such as Yandang Mountain, Xuedou Mountain, Tianmu Mountain, Tiantai Mountain and Xiandu Mountain, and famous lakes such as the West Lake in Hangzhou, the East Lake in Shaoxing, the South Lake in Jiaxing, the Dongqian Lake in Ningbo and the North-South Lake in Haiyan. The Thousand-Islet Lake in Chun’an County of Hangzhou is the largest man-made lake in the country. Major rivers in the province include the Qiantang River , the Oujiang River, and the Nanxi River. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through the northern part of the province, and merges into the Qiantang River in Hangzhou.

Mentioning the place I went to most often in my life, the South Lake Park is on the top of my list. It is pretty close to where I lived. Therefore I do not need to take any public transportation but simply walk there which is very convenient and enjoyable. What’s more, it’s no denying that the environment there was fantastic, the fresh air, the tranquil lake and the green trees all bring me good mood and make me feel relaxed. Plus, I always go there with my friends after school. We go boating which let us enjoy the clearity of the water and share laughter with singing or playing together or even have picnic on holidays. This park is full of memories of our hanging out. I cannot forget it, because without the park, I cannot have so much friends and find my life is so brilliant. The park is not only a beautiful place, but also a memory in my heart, which always warm my heart and help me to get over the issues when I am in trouble.

It was my first visit to Hangzhou. In one and a half days, I hurried through more than ten scenic spots. The West Lake in spring is gracefully pleasant, its beauty unparallelled. Walking along the lake, I saw willows bowing in shiness. The water is so blue. The pavilions throw their shadows in the water. What is most impressive is the blooming peach flowers vying with each other in showing their beauty. The tea bushes, the screens and quiet bamboos are left in my memory.
