A Job-searching Experience
Last Friday my English teacher told me that one of her friends was looking for an English governess. I asked for her friend’s name and phone number. I determined to seize the chance and have my first job.
I was a little nervous when I went to the woman’s house. I was told that the talk between us that day would decide whether I could take the job. However, when the woman, Lucy as she was called, welcomed me into her house, I felt much relaxed. I thought as long as I was sincere and friendly I would perform well. The conversation went on smoothly. She seemed much more interested in my habits and hobbies than how good I was at English. It happened that we have the same hobby: playing tennis. I told her about my family and school life. Obviously I succeeded and from then on I went to teach her English every weekend.
Lucy told me later that it was my sincerity that made her willingly accept me. It is true that we can play some tricks while seeking for a job, but remember to be sincere. It’s the secret of my success.

【范文】
My Opinion on Campus Love
On campus, lovers can be found here and there. Some people think too much intimacy has a bad influence. It takes lovers too much time and energy. Furthermore, their intimacy can distract their own as well as other students’ attention from study. Campus should be a place for study and should maintain an atmosphere of learning.
On the other hand, other people believe it is OK. Pursuing love is all right to students on campus and intimacy is a natural expression of love. Some scholars of law hold that friendship and appropriate intimacy are an important part of student development.
In my opinion, what all people should do is just leave it as it is. University students are adults, and they can handle their own affairs well enough. However, they have to admit that school is a place where people receive an education and their main task is to study. Therefore, students are expected to behave themselves in proper ways.

1. “永不言弃”一直被认为是一种积极的生活态度,是个人成功的关键因素
2. 但是,也有人认为适当的放弃才是明智的选择

【范文】
Do We Need “Never give up”?
It is widely accepted that “Never give up”, a strong and positive life attitude, is the key for individual success on the grounds that permanent persistence may boost our confidence, strengthen our will, and provide us a second chance for success when we are in hardship. However, others argue that sensible abandonment is more precious than blind persistence because the wise one should choose the most suitable area for himself/herself.
In my opinion, we need to learn to give up timely. The most immediate reason is that we should adjust our aim carefully in order to go ahead continuously. Sometimes, to give up those unrealistic targets is essential for success. Besides, the attitude “Never give up” exhausts us both mentally and physically. Only through learning to give up can we lead a pleasant and relaxing life. Finally, the temporary comprise means a new start, a beginning bringing new hopes, expectations and opportunities for us.
Passive as giving up sounds alike, it represents a more mature and realistic mentality. If those opposing this attitude can take into consideration of its benefits, then this may seem acceptable in our lives.

With the development of the society and economy, various private schools arise. When you read newspapers, turn on TV, or even walk on the road, you will inevitably see lots of advertisements about private schools, mainly dealing with foreign languages, computers, music, sports, and so on.
However, is it a good or bad thing to have so many private schools? As a coin has two sides, so are the private schools. On the one hand, private schools can cater to the special need of the society and the special need of people. On the other hand, they often bring people extra burden because of comparison and competition.

大学必备英语四级作文篇2:关爱老人We Should Balance Our Love
Nowadays it is common to see that many parents focus their attention on their children, but leave their own parents without proper care. The most typical example is the phenomenon of empty nest seniors. This problem has aroused the public concern and has become the hot topic of many discussions.
Paying little attention to older parents can have serious consequences. First, the elderly often feel lonely and depressed if there is no child with whom they can talk, and this can have a bad effect on their mental health. Second, the aged parents with no children by their sides can have a lot of trouble in their daily life due to disease or old age.
In my opinion, we should take the following measures. Children should be encouraged to live with or near their old parents, which is very helpful for them to know their parents, concern and attend their daily life. And it is also necessary for them to create chances to communicate with their aged parents. Besides, our govemmeiit should strive to establish the service system for the elderly and expand its social insurance coverage among them.
大学必备英语四级作文篇3:上网找答案We Shouldn't Totally Turn to the Internet
Nowadays, Internet has become an indispensable part in our life, and we use it for various purposes, such as searching useful information and chatting online. However, now more and more people turn to the Internet for help whenever they have trouble in finding solutions to their problems, and this phenomenon has aroused the public's attention.
Relying on the Internet to solve all our difficulties can have bad impacts on us. On one hand, since we can always settle the troubles by searching solutions online, we can become very lazy and don't bother to think up answers by ourselves, which can hinder the development of creative thinking. On the other hand, the answers online may be inaccurate or wrong. If we use them without thinking the credibility of them, we may make serious mistakes someday.
As far as I'm concerned, we shouldn't completely depend on the Internet to settle problems. When we come across some difficulties, we’d better try our best to find possible solutions. If we make great efforts and still can't come up with an answer, then we can surf online to search solutions. But we should question the correctness of these answers before we adopt them.

作文题目:节食Students, especially girls, often like to lose weight by eating less or taking different kinds of medicine. Dieting has become an obsession for some people. What is your opinion about this obsession with dieting?
作文范文Preventing an Obsession with Dieting
I believe the craving some young women have to copy what is promoted as the ideal figure for a woman is the cause of their obsession with excessive dieting. A great deal of media advertising makes use of young, slim, attractive women and it is understandably natural that some women want to copy what they see as the ideal role model.
Obsessive dieting certainly does happen, as is illustrated by the numerous articles in magazines about people suffering from anorexia. Almost exclusively, this obsession relates to younger women who are constantly bombarded with the supposedly ideal woman as depicted in women's fashion magazines, Most of these fashion models are very slim, some of them excessively so. There is nothing wrong with a sensible controlled diet aimed at losing some excess weight but, when the need to diet becomes an allconsuming passions, that is when the danger occurs. Often, the people who become susceptible to the lure of the "perfect" figure are not aware of what is happening to them. Usually, preventing dieting becoming an obsession will depend on friends and relatives recognising the warning signs. As for preventing the basic cause of this problem, that is a much more complex issue as it involves the standard mores of the society and people being aware of their responsibilities. Education about the dangers of excessive dieting needs to be part of the solution for prevention.
In conclusion, an obsession with dieting can be prevented by friends and relatives of the dieter as well as an education campaign about the dangers of excessive dieting. (261 words)

写作题目:责任On May 12, 2008, Fan Meizhong, a teacher at Guangya School in Dujiangyan, revealed he had fled his classroom during the earthquake leaving his students behind. Some people say that he lacked responsibility to his students while others say he had a right to save his own life first. What is your opinion about this?
写作范文Teachers Should Put Students First
"Runner Fan", nickname of Fan Meizhong, who ran out of the classroom leaving his students behind during the May 12 earthquake, has caused a controversy concerning traditional Chinese values. Many people regard his action as wrong and a direct violation of teachers' responsibility and I would have to agree with them.
Firstly, it is the responsibility of a teacher to protect his students' safety by law. Being concerned solely fol his own life and leaving his students behind while fleeing violates the spirit of the law. In an emergency, each teacher is responsible for the direct supervision of his students. Furthermore, it will be of great help if they can direct the evacuation of their students to designated assembly areas in accordance with warning signals and written notification. It is out of the question that they should not remain with their students until rescue crews arrive. Secondly, teachers act as a role model for their students. The Compulsory Education Law does stipulate that “a teacher should be a model of virtue for others and should be devoted to the education of the people." Teachers not only teach students how to think, but also how to behave to support others in society. Fleeing the classroom and leaving the students behind in an emergency sets a bad example for students.

写作题目:献血Many university students donate blood because they either get marks or benefit in some other way while others see it as helping others in need. Do you think that students should get something in return for donating blood?
写作范文Universities Should Reward Blood Donors
Should university students be rewarded for donating blood or should they do it out of altruistic reasons? As far as I am concerned, I believe that students should not make the donation merely in order to obtain rewards. Yet, institutions ought to devise some incentives to promote blood donation.
To begin with, the act in question is to help or even save the lives of people in need. In view of the notion that prize and punishment should be meted out accordingly, donors should be rewarded for their selflessness. Second, the implementation of various incentives also serves to encourage students to donate blood. As the saying goes, "One good turn deserves another." Even if donors do demand some repayment, it is utterly justified. Meanwhile, the establishment of the incentive policy also reinforces an advantageous societal system where good deeds are encouraged. Nevertheless, the foregoing points do not justify able-bodied students eschewing blood donation if no rewards are offered. Otherwise, our world would be replete with mercenary individuals; and no society can survive let alone thrive when it is corrupted with selfishness.
In the final analysis, students should make donations in an altruistic fashion".However, universities ought to present some rewards to express their gratitude. (205 words)
