哑巴的英语是mute。

哑巴英语只是一种说法，说的就是读写能力比较强，但听说能力非常弱甚至根本不会听说的现象。这种现象在中国其实并不少见，尤其是早期国内的英语教育，一开始基本上没有听力和口语的要求，完全是应试的思路。

导致大量的学生根本就不去做听和说的练习音标也没有系统的学习，老师自己都没有把音标完全读对单词有大量的错音和中式发音的现象。当然，他们根本就不在乎这些语音基础的问题，因为考试不考。
